2019 WA Architecture Awards

The state’s top architects gathered at the award-winning Optus Stadium to honour excellence in the design and construction industries at the 2019 WA Architecture Awards.

The Perth Children’s Hospital by JCY Architects and Urban Designers, Cox Architecture and Billard Leece Partnership with HKS was awarded the most esteemed accolade, the George Temple Poole Award, celebrated for its exceptional design that successfully engages all users of this complex new medical facility.

A range of other forward-thinking projects was recognised at the Awards, including the luxury Westin Hotel by HASSELL, MORQ’s distinctive Cloister House, the unique and innovative North Fremantle Beach Office by Braham Architects and WA’s iconic Yagan Square project.

MC’d by Hans Bruechle, the crowd were addressed by newly appointed WA Chapter President, Peter Hobbs and Hon Peter Tinley AM, MLA who spoke to the importance of quality architecture when it comes to creating and sustaining successful, vibrant communities not just today, but well into the future.

Following the presentation of the awards, guests moved to the Sports Lounge where they spent the evening drinking, dancing and celebrating well into the night with their peers.
