It was a perfect summer day in WA, not only because of the heat, but because it was the third annual Swim + Resort series hosted ocean-side at Bathers Beach House, Freo.
The event is part of the Telstra Perth Fashion Festival and provides a platform for Australian designers to showcase some of the newest trends and looks for this upcoming summer.
FIRST BASE opened with Chadwick’s model Ebony Hunter leading the way in a mustard yellow suit that stated ‘wet dreams’, followed by more stunning pieces - getting us very excited to hit the sand ASAP.
The crowd was enamoured when a Natalie Rolt metallic gold cape flowed down in the runway – the designer was sitting front row watching proudly herself.
Highlights of the show were seeing hues of pink come and go, from both Ivory Daze and Gypsea. Amore + Sorvete blew us away with a bold colour palette and beautiful head-wraps that gave us a desert meets beach vibe.
Let’s not forget the lads...
Racey budgy smugglers hit the runway. Plain, colourful and patterned all drawing high-school girl giggles from the crowd.
Everyone was impressed, and the variety sure left us all spoilt for choice.
The runway soon cleared and guests moved inside for champagne and canapés (loving the mushroom arancini ball btw) before moving back outside where the runway had become decorated with palms and floral, ready for a sunset show.
Sass and Bide reminded us how good they are at making statements: Bold pieces full of strong patterns, shoulder slits, feathers, chucky jewellery and sequins.
A navy and red striped two-piece, embellished with gold, already owns next weeks pay check. And the stunning see-through lacy white outfits with silver and gold like jewels attached were heavenly.
Until next year!
