Local and international talent will come flocking to Perth for the 17th annual Telstra Perth Fashion Festival, running between the 15th and 20th of September.

Over six highly anticipated days, the festival will hold over thirty exquisite events, both ticketed and free, and will feature an array of awe-inspiring runway shows, styling workshops and community events.

The jam-packed calendar are all must-sees, but to make it easier, we have put together a list of our top picks.

Tuesday 15th September

Independent Perth luxury boutique Dilettante will open the festival this year, and with it being their first association to the festival all eyes will be on them. A specially curated runway show will highlight three major designers, all with very different aesthetics.

Paris based designer Yang Li, with his clean and disproportionate lines will be the first to feature in the show, with his collection expressing emotion through the silhouettes he creates.

Tony Maticevski’s collection features floor length gowns, and new silhouettes while playing with sport like material, a juxtaposition not for the faint hearted.

Lastly, local talent 33 Poets use experimental fabric choice to create a counter-culture style that is extremely unique, giving designer Rebecca Paterson her international reputation.

Wednesday 16th September

In the evening eight of WA’s most talented and creative designers will feature in a group runway show, highlighting what these emerging designers have on offer. The WA Designer runway, the first of two, showcase designers like Cantini Designs, Intimates by Monique and Karolina Couture.

Friday 18th September

Friday is the day for free events.

There is a chance to meet, and spend a morning with renowned fashion illustrator David Downton, who is coming to Perth as a festival ambassador.

The Restyle Runway will show you how to dress on a budget, but still look incredible. It will also feature all the best looks from the Restyle2015 competition.

The Enex100 runway show will celebrate the Sprint/Summer collections of retailers like Lululemon, Gorman, and Calibre, with the variety appealing to all types.

Saturday 19th September

In his first WA show distinguished Akira Isogawa will showcase his latest Spring/Summer collection with his pieces reflecting his Japanese heritage. The use of vintage textiles combined with embellishment will highlight the romantic and feminine nature of his work. Akira’s show will definitely be a highlight of the festival, with tickets still available.

Sunday 20th September

The most talked about, and anticipated event is the closing night with Wheels and Dollbaby, who will be featuring international burlesque star Dita von Teese on the runway. The show will highlight their unique rock and roll, yet sexy aesthetic to the guests. Inspiring guests with their mantra of sex and glamour, the show will draw a close to an extremely successful week of fashion.

With this extraordinary line up it’s a week you cant afford to miss. So grab your girlfriends and get planning!
